My teaching method is focused on making lessons engaging and fun. Learning happens best when students feel a genuine interest in the topic, so my goal is to plan lessons that fit your interests. I have taught lessons where we looked at historical events, science, movies and tv, books, world news, art, etc. I hope to provide an environment that feels natural and relaxed so you can become more comfortable in conversation, both asking and answering questions.

In addition to working on conversational skills, my background allows me to help you with writing, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. We can fit the lessons to you and your needs. I have taught students from 9 years old to over 60 years old. You do not need to be an advanced student, but my style of teaching works best with at least an intermediate level of knowledge. All this means is that I am not an introductory teacher of the English language, so you should have some base from which we can grow your skills. My background is in education, with over 6 years of experience working in bilingual schools and as a language tutor. I am a native English speaker, originally from the USA, and now living in Austria. One last point, I can empathize with learning a new language since I am currently working on my German.
