Hello! I’m Ege Anbar, a master’s student at the University of Innsbruck, specializing in “Media, Society, and Communication.” Throughout my high school and university years, I've had the opportunity to teach English through a unique, immersive approach that sets itself apart from traditional language classes.
In typical English classes, there's often a heavy emphasis on grammar rules, textbooks, and drills, which can feel monotonous and disconnected from real-life usage. My method, however, is designed to be both engaging and effective by centering around each student's personal interests. This approach, often known as the “immersion method,” is widely recognized and celebrated for helping students build confidence and fluency in a more natural, enjoyable way.
Here’s how it works: instead of sticking to a standard curriculum, we shape the lessons around what you love to do. Are you a gamer? Then let’s create a game together—entirely in English! If you’re passionate about arts and culture, we can visit a museum and discuss the artworks in English. Enjoy cooking? Let’s make a meal together or explore new cuisine while chatting about it in English. Whatever you love, we’ll use it as a foundation for learning.
This method has been shown to increase students' confidence in speaking English in everyday situations, making it much easier for them to transition from classroom settings to real-world conversations. By engaging in activities that are meaningful and enjoyable, students find it easier to communicate naturally and fluently when the time comes to use English outside of class.
If you're looking for a fun and effective way to improve your English skills, let’s connect and start learning through the things you’re passionate about!
