Learning a new language is a multi-faceted experience that involves practice in reading, writing, and speaking.
I am at my best when I help intermediate-level students. My teaching experience has primarily involved older primary and secondary school children who wish to improve their writing and their argumentative and speaking skills. I mainly use reading material from two U.S-based learning sites: the New York Times Learning site as well as Common Lit, which presents both classic and contemporary writing for discussion. The sites were especially important during COVID lockdowns, when learning shifted online for my students in Taiwan.
