You can call me Mara. I earned a Bachelor of Secondary Education with a major in English, Cumlaude, in the Philippines. I have been teaching for 7 years. I recently worked at the Gia Viet English Language Center in Can Tho City, Vietnam. I taught English to all levels of learners, from kindergarten to adult level, for 4 years. I also tutored students for the IELTS test. I taught English to high school and senior high school students, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing, following the K–12 curriculum at APEC Schools for 3 years. I also taught other subjects such as Filipino (Tagalog), science, social studies, music, the arts, PE, and health. I worked part-time in 2016 at Cavite State University, where I taught Filipino, business English, writing in discipline, study, and thinking skills. I can be a club moderator as well, for I was an adviser to the Performing Arts and English Club.

When teaching, I make sure to give simple and easy-to-follow instructions, demonstrate the steps, use verbal and non-verbal communications, prepare a related and appropriate lesson to the age group and the activities to the lesson, interactive games or activities, check for understanding before asking them to do the task, and have a safe environment.

I mostly use TPR with the YLs because they are active learners and they like moving.
For young adults, they like problem-solving and brainstorming with the class. I use the 4Cs: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, and the 4As: activity, analysis, abstraction, and application.

I've attended, participated in, and presented in our teacher training sessions and seminars online and offline.
