Mariko Suzuki

Hello! I’m Mariko Suzuki, 30 years old and a graduate of Tourism Management. I have teaching experience in both English and Japanese, working with students from various backgrounds, especially adults who are learning for personal, travel, or professional reasons.

In my lessons, I create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable speaking and making mistakes—because that’s how real learning happens! I use a student-centered approach, tailoring each class to your level, goals, and interests. Whether we’re working on pronunciation, grammar, conversation, or listening skills, I always aim to make the lessons practical and engaging.

For English lessons, I focus on natural conversation, real-life vocabulary, and listening practice. I help learners build confidence and improve fluency through role-plays, speaking drills, and useful expressions for travel, work, or daily communication.

For Japanese lessons, I teach in English and focus on helping English-speaking beginners understand the foundations of the language. We work on hiragana, basic grammar, common phrases, and practical situations like ordering food, introducing yourself, or traveling in Japan. I also include cultural tips to help students understand how and when to use the language appropriately.

My experience as a language tutor and a Japanese language teacher has taught me the value of patience, clear explanations, and making every lesson enjoyable. I’ve worked with both individuals and small groups, and I always adjust my teaching style based on how each student learns best.
