In the last four years, I've taught students of all ages, and from different walks of life and the one thing I have learnt is that as every student's face is different, so are their needs, strengths, and weaknesses.
While learning is always so difficult, I try to make it fun by involving the students in the decision making and planning of some of our sessions, including their preferences and integrating their likes and hobbies into every session thereby boosting their trust in me as well as self confidence and making classes relatable enough to understand.
My method of teaching is quite simple, it is a process; first I make my students comfortable with speaking that way when mistakes are made I can easily identify them and make the necessary corrections.
Though it is not as easy as I make it seem; making a person comfortable require a certain skill set, one of which I possess and have nurtured over the years.
I use a wide range of materials including but not limited to poems, literature texts, self made notes and videos.
While I don't grade my students, I give them:
* Practice modules: this is to assess their comprehension.
* Written quizzes: to check their spellings
*Oral Quizzes: to assess phonation and grammar.
It may seem too demanding or like a lot, but learning is a process you have to trust and repeat to see tangible results. And I am here to guide and assist you along the way, making the process a lot easier and fun.
I look forward to our sessions, see you soon.
