Hello! My name is Sofie and I have been teaching English for the past 4 years. I am originally from New Jersey in the United States, and I studied German and Environmental Studies at Skidmore College in New York. After graduating in 2019, I moved to Austria and have been working and studying here since.

I taught English as a United States Teaching Assistant at several high schools in Upper Austria and Tyrol from 2019 to 2021, and then moved to Vienna in the fall of 2021, where I have continued teaching students of all ages and levels in small groups and in one-on-one sessions. I also have a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate from Global Language Training.

Teaching English is one of my passions; I love helping my students reach their individual goals. I strive to make English fun for my students, such as by discussing specific topics my students are interested in. I am open for what the students want help in-- whether it's homework, test preparation, study help, reading and writing, translating, mock interviews, or just English conversation skills, I will prepare a lesson for them. But most importantly, my goal as an English teacher is to foster a nonjudgmental and comfortable learning environment for my students. I encourage them to make mistakes and ask any question they might have, as it is all part of the learning process. I look forward to teaching you!
