I have experience with teaching learners online at various language levels in both group and private lessons. I have taught learners with A2 to C1 level proficiency. Since most of my classes are private (i.e. one to one) classes, I have developed the skill of tailoring my lesson material to fit the needs of my students. I strive to make my classes interesting and interactional; providing as many opportunities as possible for my students to use the language. I do this because I believe that the quickest and best way to learn a language is to use it. In a typical listening lesson for example, I would start by introducing the topic of the lesson using an image, video or text. I would then proceed to clarify (i.e. to explain) the vocabulary you would see in the listening text. After we have listened to the text together, I would then ask you some questions (e.g. gist questions) to see if you got the general idea of the audio. After this we would listen to the text once more and I would again ask you some questions (e.g. detail questions) to check if you are able to pick out specific points from the audio. Once all of that is done we would spend the rest of the lesson talking about the topic of the audio. Here you would be able to practice your English by expressing your opinions in your own words. Lastly we do some error correction for any speaking mistakes you may have made during the lesson, practice some pronunciation and go over any new vocabulary you might have used or that came up during the lesson.
