My diverse background and long experience in both teaching English language and translating/interpreting make me a strong candidate for this role. I hold a Master’s degree in Translation Studies from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo (passed all the exams, but never finished my dissertation), where I also completed intensive training in simultaneous interpretation. Additionally, I am a certified teacher of English as a foreign language, having passed the state exam in this field. Throughout my studies, I worked with two NGOs, BH Journalists and Association XY, where I honed my translation skills and developed a keen understanding of time management, meeting strict deadlines. My internship at the Directorate for European Integration of BiH allowed me to gain valuable experience in translation within the context of European integration, where I became proficient in software such as Trados and MultiTerm. Following my studies, I worked as a translator and interpreter in both the private sector—serving clients such as SEB Groupe, Walter Solutions, ONASA News Agency, and Kliping—and the public sector, including the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations and Sarajevo Winter. In my roles, I have developed expertise in chuchotage and simultaneous interpreting across various registers, including architectural, legal, economic, political, and engineering contexts. My time as a teacher of English in both elementary and high schools has further enhanced my communication skills and deepened my understanding of language education. At SEB Groupe, I broadened my skill set by working as a trade assistant. My responsibilities included logistics management, customer service, procurement, translation of legal documents and manuals, preparation of presentations, development and implementation of new filing systems, and coordination of project launches. This experience enriched my knowledge of operational efficiency and effective communication within a large multinational organization.
